56 years for a better World The work of the LGW does not have borders. The Legion of Good will acts in many countries through actions that aim at awakening the human being for the exercise of full citizenship.
Argentina contacts | official website This country officialized, in 1985, a unit of the LGW. The activities started with the openning of a cafeteria and a kindergarten in the city of Buenos Aires. Today, the children in social risk situation can already count on the Educational and Cultural Center José de Paiva Netto and on several programs of social action. Bolivia contacts | official website In La Paz, the LGW’s Jesus Pre-school takes care of children daily. They receive food and medical care, which include vaccine application, fluorine and vitamins complementation. It is served an average of 50 thousand meals annually. It also carries out the Alphabetizing Course, the Mothers Club Program and the Charity Round that distributes meals, clothing, footwear and baby accessories to the least favored families. Brazil contacts | official website Country where the organization was originated, the LGW maintains, in dozens of Brazilian cities, schools of basic education (elementary, intermediate and high school); Homes for children, adolescents and senior citizens; and Community and Educational Centers, where the population in personal and social risk situation has access to the innumerable programs and projects, as for example of the LGW - Children: Future in the Present! and the Charity Round. This last one, as a matter of fact, for over 43 years contributes to strengthen the self-esteem and the exercise of citizenship of the people that receive its support, besides promoting the social integration of the communities benefited with this work. United States of America contacts The LGW acts in the United States of America since 1986. People are taken care of through social watches, program of illnesses prevention and campaigns of promotion of the Culture of Peace. The representatives of the LGW in the USA participate actively of the proposals of the United Nations (UN), giving their opinions on the subjects approached in the meetings and assemblies, always based on the vast experience that the Organization has in the socioeducational field. Paraguay contacts | official website The LGW in Asunción, maintains 95 children under medical and nutritional cares in the Kindergarten and Pre-school José de Paiva Netto. More than 80 thousand meals are served per year. To help the future mothers, there is the Baby Citizen Project. In this project, lectures on basic care with the baby and medical orientation, among other activities, are given. Portugal contacts | official website With 17 years of existence on Portuguese lands, the actions of the Legion of Good Will in Portugal are developed all over the country, with branches in the cities of Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon. This action is accomplished through the many existing programs: Happy Smile, A step Foward, Charity Round, Live More, Seed of Good Will, Youth of Good Will, Food Campaign and Sport is Life not violence. Uruguay contacts | official website For 20 years in Montevideo, the LGW keeps the Jesus Pre-school, which takes care of, full time, hundreds of children between the ages of 2 and 5. The students are served about 70 thousand meals annually. There they also receive pedagogical, psychological, medical and recreational orientation, this last one, in special, in the Toy Library. With the objective of developing an integrated work, the LGW also promotes activities with the families of the children, as for example of the lectures on education and prevention, besides special events that aim at better life standards.
