Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Brazil — The United Nations Information Center in Brazil, UNIC-Rio, established a new partnership with the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, through the State Administration of Del Castilho/Suburbana, of the State Office of Education and the Legion of Good Will (Legião da Boa Vontade) to institute the Youth For Peace project.

This project aims at giving lectures in public schools about the actions of the UN in Brazil and its worldwide topics voted by the international delegations.

"We have a partnership and I hope that we will be able to take the concrete message, not only to the United Nations, which is the ‘hat’ of all this, but to the students, the future leaders of this Country and contribute, this way, for a more aware Citizenship of what happens around them. Also change the meaning of the word Solidarity to a real word, that can truly contribute to the progress of this Country. Therefore, we are sure that this effort realized now by the LGW, by the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro and by us, will have its results made good use of”.
