The Legion of Good Will co-sponsored a side event on July 19, 2017, with the theme "ICT-Integrated Innovative Education for Global Citizenship to Eliminate Poverty". This panel is part of the Forum's official programme.

The LGW’s contributions are based on the best practices and outcomes of the work that it carries out in its social and educational programs. These recommendations have been made available by the UN in its official languages to the member states and are also published in the special edition of the magazine GOOD WILL Sustainable Development, 2017 (versions in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French). The magazine was shared with the authorities present during the two-week High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the High-Level Segment of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC/UN).

The publication also presents the message of the LGW’s president, José de Paiva Netto, in the editorial article "Education to Eradicate Poverty", in which he highlights the strength of Good Will in facing the social challenges of the planet. The author says on page 7: "Sustainable development is one of the biggest challenges faced by emerging nations or by those that have already reached the highest level of material growth in their economies. However, if it is our heartfelt with to see progress shared with everyone, we believe that solidary development must, above all, enlighten the actions of the Earth's inhabitants-from the highest to the lowest-and of their future generations who live on our collective home. Therefore, the planet demands something more than an effective public policy; it demands the commitment of a new conscience, based on principles that guarantee the continuity of life and human coexistence above all other interests. This awareness fosters joint efforts between nations that aim to urgently help people who are in need of someone who will stretch out their hands to them."
