WorkShops and Courses

The LBV offers educational workshops to low-income men and women in need. The subject matters that are discussed during these workshops range in topic from advising on professional/career matters to advising on healthy eating. Our goals with these workshops are to impart knowledge and help guide others on their paths to leading healthier, successful lives.

Here is an example of our Cooking Well Workshop:

Conducted by the Brazilian holistic therapist Malu Momesso, the workshop presents a practical nutrition and cooking course, guiding the Brazilian and Portuguese participants to the preparation of easy and natural food alternatives. Malu teaches that the preparation and combination of certain foods can make a huge difference to one’s physical and emotional balance. Malu also works to raise the awareness of the four pillars of individual balance: food, mind, home, and work. "The energy that keeps us alive comes from our food, our living spaces and the thoughts we cultivate. True health can best be achieved from integrating these aspects small changes gradually and continuously,” she argues.
